Excited to have hosted our first Territorio lunch gathering with MIT students from across departments. The gathering was a great opportunity to introduce the group, get to know one another, share delicious Brazilian food, and discuss our common interests in Latin American urban policy and planning. Our first event brought together a conversation on the qualitative housing deficit and the layers of informality in Argentina. The panel examined how we conceptualize this deficit and identify which policy instruments actually move the needle, considering both financing and implementation.
Gathering at the DUSP City Arena, we were proud to host this dialogue with the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning, the Harvard Argentine Student Society (HASS), and LatinGSD. This event marks the first step for Territorio in fostering discussion on urban challenges across the region.

Urban economist and Director of the Master's in Urban Economics at UTDT, and a Senior Fellow at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.
Urbanist and political scientist with experience at the IDB and the Buenos Aires Government. He has worked on informal settlement upgrading and joins the MIT DUSP PhD program in 2026.
President & CEO of FOVISEE and SPURS Fellow at MIT, with 25+ years leading housing and energy programs.
